PGA Pro Ian Passwell’s Students Win Local Championships

PGA Pro Golf Coach on the Northern Beaches – Ian Passwell – on seeing success in his students…

On Sunday September 12th I had a very pleasing and gratifying day as a professional golf coach on the Northern Beaches. Two of my regular students in private golf lessons at Pittwater Golf Centre were in the final of their respective Club Championships.

A young, “mature aged lady” Jenny was in the final of C Grade at Cromer Golf Course. It was the first time qualifying for any championship. Which she won 2 and 1.

Great work Jenny!

23 year old Matt was in the final of the A Grade Club Championship at The Lakes Golf Course.

He is off a Plus 2 handicap and has aspirations to play professional golf. After much work by both of us, his ball striking ability and control has improved considerably. The final was over 36 holes and when Matt was down late in the match he rallied to be all square after 36 holes. After 3 extra “sudden death” holes he birdied the 39th hole for an impressive victory!

Proud of you Matt!

What is really interesting is the broad spectrum of of ability between these 2 students and the variation in teaching methods required to suit each individual golfer. Different drills and golf exercises were completed as “homework” for each player. Age related flexibility and strength factors dictate the variation of drills, as you are never too set in your ways to be able to eradicate bad swing habits and improve.

Well done Club Champions – Jenny & Matt 🏆👏

Best Wishes from Ian Passwell PGA of Australia.
